When it comes to third wave coffee, there’s no piece of kit with more heritage than Hario’s classic V60 brewer. But rather than sitting back and enjoying the success of their labours, Hario continue to push boundaries when it comes to brewing a great cup of coffee.
Recently they have released not one, but three completely new drippers. Each one solves a problem and gives both experienced and new coffee lovers a brand new way to enjoy manual pour overs.
Meet Hario’s new generation coffee drippers:
Hario teamed up with World Barista Champion Pete Licata to branch out into flat-bottomed coffee brewing. In fact, they’ve done even better than that & created an ingenious hybrid brewer that’s the best of both worlds. The Hario W60 is an exceptionally versatile dripper that can be used in 3 distinct ways.
The Hario Mugen removes the need for the user to stand over the dripper, controlling the bloom, water flow and movement of the coffee grounds: Simply pour in all the water at once and the unique star-shaped dripper perfectly controls the flow of water through the coffee bed.
Improve brew consistency by controlling the dispersion pattern and flow rate. The Hario Drip Assist utilises rings of different sizes to distribute the water over the coffee bed in 2 different ways. Creating customised flow rates from the centre to the edges means a uniquely delicious coffee and a whole new range of possible brewing recipes. The Drip Assist is also available as a V60-compatible topper.
